I worked on this quilt on and off for ten years. It is paper-pieced with a variety of both batiks and cotton. I designed the pattern using EQ8. Bernina's 125 Anniversary celebration had a pillow project using clamshells that layered the fabrics and then embroidered them with stitches included on my Bernina 770QE. I used the clamshell pattern and then appliqued them into the border. It is custom quilted by Karen Marchetti. Now I need to bind it before another ten years slips away! I wanted to bind it with the same fabric as the narrow outer border, but I don't have any of that fabric left. So I'm thinking solid black? I need about 500 inches of binding!
