Emma J. CostaArtist Statement: My quilt shows the 2 hemispheres of the brain: the analytical side (whites to blacks) and the creative (colourful) one. I used a black & white image of a brain that I pixelated on the computer. I coloured over half of it so I could see the dark & light values underneath. I cut squares of fabric based on the chart, sewed them together in long rows & assembled those rows. Color placement was both the most important & my favourite part.
Pieced With: My Mom, Tamara Serrao helped a little, but I did 95% of the work.
