My Black (BoHo) Heart
My Black (BoHo) Heart
In 2022, I broke up Jen Kingwell's Boho Heart Pattern to teach as a Block of the Month at my LQS. To advertise the class, I made a nice scrappy version, to the pattern directions, to hang. I worked along with my students throughout the class, using my leftover background strips from the first one to "seed" my second one. And since it wasn't going to be a display, I had licence to make it my own a bit better. I had fun putting hidden pops of color in the blocks, using some cool bug fabric, a rainbow effervescence, and of course, some fussy cut Tula Pink fabrics from Line Work. I tied it all together with a color wheel background, which I expanded so my striped black/white/gray tonal binding would stand out. It It was quilted in undulating lines in rainbow thread with a black tonal Grunge back. This is, so far, my favorite quilt I've ever made.
