Artist Statement: "This is the second quilt I have made, and it took me two years to complete. It depicts my next-door neighbor's garden when I was growing up. She was a prolific gardener and had a cat named Peanuts. Our road was named for the hawthorn tree. The border is my original design, as are the embellishments. The quilt was originally intended for my bed but it grew to be too large for it."
