Momma's Dowry
Momma's Dowry
Momma's Dowry - My mother ran away and got married at the naive young age of 72...
yup, she eloped and called us on Friday night and said ' We're gettin' married in the morning' just like in the song... We were not able to drop everything and make the trip, so I set out to make a quilt for them as her dowry in her favorite colors. When she saw it in work, she was not thrilled with the black...she would have prefered white...but I asked her to trust me on this. She did and when she opened the finished quilt she was stunned. I warmed my heart that she likes it. She often teases me about my quilting, saying I 'take perfectly good fabric, cut it up into little tiny pieces and spend hours sewing it back together again'.
