During one of the 6 Know It Alls videos a Mountain Mist wrapper from the 1930s was displayed which was covered in picture suggestions for quilts. The one in the upper rirght fascinated me as it looked so modern.
It was impossible to make out the details and I didn't want to make a direct copey anyway. So I slightly adapted it to make a 12" miniature. It's all silk apart from the cotton backing. I quilted the backing first and then each turned applique piece as I applied it. I found this caused some shadows as the pieces layered up. Altogether this was a problem solving excerise but fun to make (mostly).
