Milady's Treehouse
Milady's Treehouse
I used my collection of vintage laces and panels to embellish my new series.
I had taken a class with Kelly Cline on using vintage linens in a quilt and I thought it would be interesting to try with my usual subject of using old buildings as inspiration. I started with a background of trees and added trees from other prints. A picture of Steve Rondel's abandoned treehouse was my starting visual reference. I embellished the structure with hand-dyed vintage lace and crochet and added rusty door elements. I plan to take the theme and techniques further to make Milady's Boudoir and Her Lover's Abode. It is both hand and machine pieced and quilted.
