My modern traditional quilt was machine pieced using specialty rulers and freezer paper techniques.
Mid Century Modern is an original design and was the result of exploring the shapes of the period through piecing and simple solid fabrics. The linear and curved piecing was accented by quilted curved motifs and straight lines for an overall graphic design.
The quilt was pieced using Studio 180 Design Tools and freezer paper techniques. The quilt components were initially designed in my sketchbook and then transferred to EQ8. Once in EQ8, over 100 hours we're spent colouring and rearranging the blocks.
My vision was then long armed by Linda Schmidt.
My quilt was recently awarded first place in the Modern Catagory of Quilt Canada 2021.
