Mary Brooke's Quilt - This quilt is owned by a friend who had gotten it in pieces from her grandmother who did not quilt, but bought the squares at a church rummage sale.
When she accepted the quilt squares, her husband said, "We'll be married 30 years before you get that finished." Well, 2007 would be their 30th anniversary, so time was short. Most of the squares had been appliquéd already; batting and backing had been cut for each square. I recruited some quilting friends to finish the squares; then I sewed them all together by hand. We finished in time, and the pictures show the presentation to the happy couple, Vic and Mary Brooke Casad.
