Margy's Quilt

Margy's Quilt

Margy's Quilt - This was made whilst doing a workshop with Carolyn Price in Australia. The blocks that make up the background are created by stacking 6 to 8 fabrics and freehand cutting a curved line through from just off the diagonal. Then the fabrics are shifted in the stack, sewned back together and the process repeated. Then the squares are cut to same size and pieced on point. Applique with heavy machine embrodiery. Lilly pads created using netting and freehand machining. I made this quilt to present to my younger sister for her 50th birthday.
