Love Letters
Love Letters
Artist Statement: "Love Letters was inspired by an antique valentine that belonged to my mother-in-law. I found a chipboard alphabet set to use as a stencil for the letters. I was able to find the cotton/metallic gold fabric on the clearance rack, and I used it for the scroll part of the center heart. This was the first quilt I created a free motion feather design in the border, couched down a decorative metallic chord and managed to pull off a scallop border."
Fun Fact: "This quilt has no resemblance to the Valentine's card that inspired it."
