One of the quilts made during Ricky Tims online summer class 2021. Pieced stripped strata of 20 or more cool colors.
Under Ricky's directions, 5-7 strata stripped pieces were made. He then showed us how to draft the star pattern. My quilt is made with a collection of cool colored fabrics. Along with the piecing came many hints of what to avoid and how to be successful. The borders provided a place to be creative and make the quilt unique or use up the leftover stratas. I added some appliques of birds using some of the same fabrics. The quilting provided areas to try a variety of stitched patterns in different colors of threads. The finished quilt is 45 inches square.
