I have just made this for my 4 year old granddaughter, Katy, using a lot of my sample patches and adding a few more.
Katy is very interested in sewing already, so I made this crazy patchwork coat for her, using lots of different techniques, and sample patches I have made over the years, which I hope one day will inspire her to take up quilting. She has seen it in the making and loves it already, but as she is visiting family in New Zealand at the moment, she won't see it finished until the end of the month. When she comes home, we will do some more sewing and this time will use a proper needle (not a plastic one). Already she is aware of how to hold scissors correctly and I am very proud that she is showing such an interest in what I do.
