"Kais Amsterdam" is based on a photo taken by Karlyn's granddaughter.
Artist Statement: "I travel the world through my granddaughter's lens. When she sent me the photo, I knew on day I would get enough courage to try to make an art piece. I wrangled with the idea for two years, wondering if I could work in the purple values and do justice to what she captured on camera. It took another two years to put it together. One day it will hang in her home. I love you, my Lil Rose."
