Artist Statement: "In Heidi Parkes' Quiltmaking course, one suggested book to read was Joyful by Ingrid Fetell Lee. I became curious about how to create a quilt that implements the design elements and principles described in each chapter to produce feelings of joy in the person seeing it. In this quilt, I experiment with color and value (light) to evoke energetic, joyful feelings in viewers. How does it make you feel?"
