Marie-Christine FlocardThe "Toile de Jouy" is from my collection. It is a reprint by Burger Company of an original pattern from the Jouy Manufacture dated 1787. I chose hexagons and squares for the opportunity to center them with different charming motifs. The edges of the hexagons and squares are hand-quilted with off-white thread while the navy-blue tripes and borders are quilted with a navy-blue thread. When creating this piece my primary intention was to emphasize the delicacy of these small 18th century drawings.
