Original design for a quilt challenge, showcasing my "quilt journey" over 20 years.
This was my entry for the 2024 President's Challenge for our Des Moines Quilt Guild Annual Show. The challenge was to showcase our "quilt journey" by telling a story about our own quilt experiences. I chose to make a "quilt path" which showed the various turning points in my 20+years as a quilter. Each turn in the pat h represents a period when I "upped my game" in making quilts, from the first 9-patch quilt I made using bed sheet fabric (ugh!), through learning how to do log cabin quilts, to doing group projects with a small group I joined, to learning applique, and so on! I had been learning the EQ graphic design program that year, and I chose to create the design for the quilt in EQ, then make the quilt. Another fun learning experience!
