Japanese Obi Quilt

Japanese Obi Quilt

Japanese Obi Quilt - In 2000 I was a Fulbright Memerial Scholar to Tokoyo, Japan. I found the obi at the bottom of a pile in an antiques shop. I took me three years to figure out just how to cut up the obi to show off the beautiful gold brochade. My husband helped with the design also. The quilt is a precious memory of my host family, noodle soup, sweet potato wine, sushi, and the Ichikawa float festival.
