"Into The Sunshine" by Patricia Hechler and Joyce Hite won Best Machine Quilting Frame at Road to California 2023.
Road to California 2023 Artist Statement: "Joyce Hite and I work together, giving each other space to make our own design decisions on each quilt we do. For the longarming, I chose a variety of threads, including the addition of metallic and holographic threads to help highlight the applique. The border was a great area to introduce various thread colors, helping to create a tapestry look to the solid fabric color."

Into The Sunshine by Patricia Hechler and Joyce Hite is based on a Pearl Pereira pattern and features raw edge appliqué with a blanket stitch around the edge. Patricia is no speed demon when it comes to the machine appliqué though, taking it nice and slow to get that precise and elegant look.
