Intertwined

Intertwined

Intertwined by Wen Redmond features the same photograph repeated once on the background of interfacing that is quilted.

Then the same photograph on Intertwined is printed on lutradur, which is a commercially-spun polyester fabric that's used for upholstery and commercial furniture. Wen says, "Intertwined represents my expansion into non-commercially prepared substrates. I printed it on interfacing and lutradur, treated with non-porous white digital grounds, cut up and repositioned on top of the image printed on the interfacing."

Techniques and Materials: Digitally manipulated and fused photograph printed on interfacing and lutradur. Quilted and collaged. Tied with pearl cotton.
