Hungry Caterpillar - This quilt was given away in the Colonias of Nuevo Loredo, Mexico. It went with my daughter on her annual mission trip to the Casa Hogar orphanage. The center of of this quilt is a panel based on artwork from The Very hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle. I happened to have some great dragonfly batik fabric on hand that worked out well for the border. The corner leaves are applique. Afterwords, I thought I should have put bite marks in the leaves, but by the time I got to the applique part, my attention span was used up. There is another panel now available based on the Brown Bear book by Eric Carle. Maybe someday I'll try that one.
