I started the gum leaves wall hanging years ago, but inexperience made me put it away. Then in 2021, I was playing around with thread and fabric scraps, and an idea came to me to make an emu head. I found an image , laid out my scraps on vileness and thread painted the emu using fabrics and scrap threads. I was so happy with the result and started making a background, when I came across my unfinished gum leaves project. I completed the gum leaves wall hanging top, and laid the emu head on top- excitement grew as I fiddled around to get a layout I was happy with - Henry the Emu was born
