"Hearts of Gold" by Colleen Wise is meant to represent that every person has a heart of gold somewhere inside of them.
Hearts of Gold was the quilt that got Colleen Wise back into quilting after a recess in her life from the profession due to a family crisis. She says that the quilt is meant to represent that even though people may seem hard when times are hard, each one of us has a heart of gold inside and sometimes when you are in a crisis you find that heart of gold within them.
