Hawaiian Improv

Hawaiian Improv

"Hawaiian Improv" by Cheryl L. See won 1st Place - Large Quilts: Hand Quilted Quilts at AQS QuiltWeek - Fall Paducah 2017.

Artist Statement: "My quilt is an innovative take on the traditional Hawaiian quilt using wholecloth fabrics. The appliqué is of a topiary garden in the center of a small town. There are hand quilted cobblestone paths between buildings and suburbs surrounding the town, followed by farmers' fields. You can find laundry hanging on the line and a graveyard with ghosts behind the church. The entire quilt is heavily embellished."
