Gracious Blues

Gracious Blues

"Gracious Blues" by Claire Wallace won the Best Wall Movable Machine Workmanship Award at AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah 2025.

Gracious Blues by Claire Wallace won Best of Show at the South African International Quilt Festival. It took Claire more than two years to make. She spent a few hundred hours on the hand appliqué alone and more than 60 hours to longarm quilt. The quilt is a tribute to Annie du Toi and is inspired by Delft tiles. We love that she used the Apliquick method to create the appliqué shapes and let's not forget those little bitty circles.

Quilting Method: Movable Machine

Quilting Technique: Appliqué (Hand), Binding Technique (Piped Edging), Decorative Stitching, Embellishments (Crystals), Piecing (Machine), Quilting (Free-Motion), Quilting (Ruler Work)
