Value used to draw the eye inward to the central figure which has an added layer of wool batting behind it.
I've read a number of Heather Graham books about a special FBI group that uses the help of goshts to solve their cases. When the ghosts complete their task, they go home to heaven in a flash of light. I added a second layer of wool batting behind the figure roughly in the center of the quilt to highlight the figure. Ruler work was done using a curvy ruler to quilt radiating lines out from the center to suggest the figure moving toward the light.
