"Framework" features super simple piecing, and it began to take shape when Diane started to show an interest in a specific block when she started her job at Quiltmaker magazine.. Having been a stay-at-home mom for twenty years, Diane always loved quilting but didn't have any time to sew. This led her to think that you could make a little spinning block from rectangles. So after cutting a few scraps up, she made what became the Windy Wonder block, or the Baby Windmill block. Using this design, she began to make these blocks when she was too tired to make "creative" decisions. What started as dozens of blocks became hundreds, and needing to utilize them in some shape or form, Diane decided she would build a whole trunk show of quilts based on this block, with "Framework" being one of the centerpieces.
