Four Winds
Four Winds
Four Winds - The applique design is a "twist`on four blocks from Sue Garman's Hugs and Kisses b.o.m.. I had intended to make a quilt using all six of the leaf blocks, but when playing on EQ, came up with this layout. I`ve named it Four Winds. As is my habit, I don't usually go about making a quilt for a specific person but rather make quilts as I like to, then as I go along a recipient comes to mind. This design and fabrics made me think of an Aunt, and so I made it just the way I had it on EQ at that time. For the first time, I used Beth Ferrier`s method of machine applique, using wash-away stabilizer that she recommends. I almost always want my quilts to withstand washing and drying - the applique came out beautifully!
