Artist Statement: "I used hand-turned appliqué for this piece, but then I decided to break all the rules and free-motion quilt the entire background in black thread on white fabric! I wanted it to look like a mandala coloring book, with the black thread representing a black marker. I added some hand embroidery to the edges and even embroidered around some half-inch mirrors! There is so much fun you can create with thread!"
