Etude de Chat en Violet - This Himalayan cat with his intent, focused gaze intrigued me. I felt that violet/purple set him off perfectly. I used applique and reverse applique techniques with raw edges finished in satin stitching. I used green silk for the eyes, a perfect match to the color in the photograph. I machine stitched free-form hearts all around him since he is a beloved member of his family.
