Artist Statement: "Espalier was inspired by espaliered fruit trees trained in what is called a Belgian Fence pattern. This pattern made for perfect on point blocks to place the birds and butterflies. I love putting birds on quilts and collecting fabrics that could be bird eyes, bird feet, and feathers."
