Artist Statement: "How much can you change the image of an icon and still recognize the icon itself? Designed from a photo taken by my husband 17 years ago, this view of the Eiffel Tower was taken from an unusual perspective - underneath, looking up. Many years later, when I decided to make it a quilt, I rotated it (the sky is in the lower right), recolored it using digital tools, and enlarged it. It was pieced using my own foundation patterns drawn to scale."
