"East of Eden" by Cindy Seitz-Krug won Best Sewing Machine Workmanship - Traditional at the 2021 Spring Quilt Festival.
Artist Statement: "In 2019, I had the privilege of teaching domestic machine quilting in Shanghai and Beijing, China. It was a wonderful experience, and I was greatly influenced by the vibrant colors and artwork I observed there. After I came home I wanted to memorialize my trip by creating a quilt that reminded me of the culture in the East. This is my homage to that wonderful trip. I feel truly lucky and blessed to have had such an experience!"
