"Dreaming of the Tropics" was the very first medallion style quilt made by Karen Kay Buckley.
Dreaming of the Tropics represented a turning point in Karen's quilting career. By making the quilt, she found that she liked the symmetry and balance brought about by this style. In hindsight, Karen found that there wasn't a single thing she didn't like about the quilt and that she loved making it. From here, she wanted to see where she could go with the ideas generated from creating it.
