Artist Statement: The natural cotton muslin is pieced with an indigo discharge-dyed, blue calico. The quilt is hand pieced, hand appliquéd and hand quilted, with eight stitches per inch. The quilt is set on point with alternate Counterpane blocks. The appliqué border is a meander of vine with leaves in groups of two at the inside curves and midpoint of the vine. A feather meander quilting alternates curves with the appliqué on the border. The quilting patterns of the alternate block are double spin feather wreaths with stippling used as the filling inside and outside the wreath.
