Country Roads depicts quietness and is a virtual escape to a simpler way of life.
Thread painting created the three and one half million stitches necessary to create the embroidered designs. No machine embroidery cards were used. The inspiration for the design came from a calendar and memories of growing up in the mountains of North Carolina. As I made the quilt, I could imagine walking down the dirt road on my way to nowhere.
