From my back window of my house I see the Empire State Building on the left and the Freedom Tower on the right. This is based on a pattern by Wendy Williams, Color My World. It took a year to piece andfive months to quilt doing 10 to 20 minutes a day. There is machine piecing, machine appliqué and a little bit of hand embroidery.
Moments of genius;
All the small houses represent houses I have lived in.
You can see my dogs and my cats represented in the windows.
I developed the pattern for the Empire State Building when I was looking at a stack of index cards.
The Seattle tower I designed using the original colors.
The trees needed some shaping.
Tea time on Big Ben.
