"Circling Sevenstar" by Lyn Crump won Third Place - Machine Quilting at Houston 2023.
Artist Statement: "Multiples of seven in orbs, fabric colors, hand-dyed embroidery threads, and sizes of circle paths combine to orbit around my seventh variation of a Feathered Star - this time a seven-point star. I added twisted chain stitch embroidery to the circles and edge of the quilt top between the facing and the quilt. Subtle changes of thread weight and colors in the quilting, which is all freehand guided, emphasize stars and orbits with lots of ruler work and even more fun."
