Casting Calls
Casting Calls
Casting Calls uses the remnants, or orphan blocks, of a quilt that Libby featured the last time she was on TQS.
The title of Casting Calls itself has two meanings and is a play on words. The first is that the remnants used in this quilt from the previous one were being auditioned, or "casted", for this piece. The second meaning is a little more intricate. The piece itself is meant to hang away from the wall, with the materials layered between a sheer tulle and cheesecloth, and when hung that way there is a "cast" shadow that shows off the squares.
