Cascade Falls was inspired by a hike Nancy took with two friends to Cascade Falls at Jefferson National Forest in Pembrooke, VA. Using a photo she took of the 60-foot cascading waterfall as her starting point, a particular point of interest that Nancy wanted to focus on was the reflecting pool where the water ran down to and reflected the dense foliage surrounding the waterfall from all around. Having seen nothing like it, Nancy of course had to create a quilt of it.
