"Branches Red" by Sherri Lipman McCauley is the first in her series called Branches of the Color Wheel.
Sherri started the series with red and then went through orange, yellow, and so on. She painted Branches Red while it was hung in her kitchen, with the black portion painted using a syringe. When painting with the syringe, Sherri wasn't really thinking about where the paint would go, but rather the fun she was having, working in the moment and letting the paint and the syringe lead her to where she needed to go.
