"Blue Wave" by Sandra Mollon is based on a photo from her cousin, Danielle Davis Quesada, taken at Lake Huron.
Sandra wanted to make Blue Wave because of all the different elements she could incorporate into the quilt to create the effect of movement. Beads and lace were used to represent the foam, while she used lots of hand dyed textiles to portray the color of the wave, hence the name.
