This quilt is hand-painted, and thread painted. It is 90% applique, and I used cotton fabric.
After my car accident, I was not able to do much without experiencing pain in my head. I needed inspiration and calm, so I started painting the birds in my backyard, and then I decided to experiment with fabric paint and eventually I quilted the blue jay. This quilt took a long time to be finished: 20 minutes at a time.
