After meeting Irene Blanck at the 2020 Academy of Applique, I had to make one of her quilts. I choose Black Licorice since it was so different from most traditional applique patterns. I don't enjoy needle turn applique, so I used used Apliquick on the blocks and modified a Karen Kay Buckley technique to form the sawtooth/diamond border.
