Artist Statement: "While living in Iceland many years ago, I attended the National Day (17 June) celebration in Reykjav√≠k with a friend and her young daughter, Björg. This quilt is based on a photo I took that day. Notice how Björg is dressed for this summer holiday - don't you just love that plaid coat, and her great smile? Now Björg is all grown up and will be the eventual recipient of the quilt."
