"Big Red" by Cathy Franks was made to show off her love of bright colors, Christmas, and her home state of Indiana.
Big Red is named not only for the striking red fabrics that Cathy used throughout, but also for her home state of Indiana, where "Go Big Red" is a rallying cry to support their football team. It is a very Modern quilt for her, and features the bright reds and greens that she loves, which also are a nod to her love of Christmas. Cathy painted the background squares yellow, and included some truly incredible quilting designs.
