Artist Statement: "This quilt was made for the Beach Cities Quilters Guild (Mission Viejo, CA) Bee-Thankful quilt challenge. My quilt was inspired by photographs I took at our local community garden, which was buzzing with bees enjoying all the garden flowers, including huge sunflowers. The challeneg required the use of a hexagon, a piece of twine, 2 charms, and three assigned fabrics. I quilted it using a sit-down longarm machine and embellished it with Swarovski crystals."
