Alex won 1st Place in a contest to show how your family came to California
Alex entered a contest for a California quilt. BUT she didn't actually read the instructions. So, she completed a map of California in a pieced, mosaic style. The colors are to represent the topography of the areas. Then she found out the quilt was supposed to show how her family came to California. So, standing back she decided to name it "Bear West". She won. BUT the lesson should be, read the instructions!
