On top of making animal portraits of her own pets, Barbara loves to do commissions of other people's pets too. Basil is one such wonderful commission, and at the time of her show's airing it was one of Barbara's newest pieces that she had just finished, and whose commissioner allowed her to debut it on the show. Afterward, it left the show with Barbara and was shipped off to became a present for the commissioner's mother.
