"Bargello" was Mary McCauley's first quilt, and helped inspire her to pursue pop up work in fabric.
Short on the number of strips to finish Bargello, Mary added bars where there were missing pieces because she didn"t want to make another strip set. After making the quilt, she discovered pop up work which she associated with her Bargello quilt. Noticing the similarities between the two, she decided to create her own pop up work out of fabric inspired by this quilt.
